Hyundai Equus: Inhibitor Switch Repair procedures

| 1. |
Disconnect the Inhibitor swtich connector. |
| 2. |
Ignition KEY "ON"" & Engine "OFF". |
| 3. |
Measure voltge between supplied power and ground at inhibitor circuit.

Connect the Inhibitor switch connector. |
| 2. |
Ignition KEY "ON" & Engine "OFF". |
| 3. |
Measure voltages between each terminal and chassis ground during shift lever changed "P, R, N, D".

| 1. |
Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. |
| 2. |
Disconnect the inhibitor connector (A) and then remove the shift cable by removing nut (B).

| 3. |
Remove the manual control lever (B) after removing a nut (A). |
| 4. |
Remove the inhibitor switch assembly after removing the bolts (C).
|
| Installation |
| 1. |
Install the inhibitor switch. When installing, tighten the
inhibitor assembly mounting bolts (A) lightly, so that necessary
adjustments can be made.
|
| 2. |
Install the parking release lever (A). |
| 3. |
Tighten the nut (B) to specifications.
|
| 4. |
Install the SST(09480-A3800) or 0.1969in.(5mm)bolt after setting parking release lever (A) in the "P".
|
| 5. |
Tighten the bolts (A) to specifications.
|
| 6. |
Remove the SST(09480-A3800) or 0.1969in.( 5mm) bolt. |
| 7. |
Install the shift cable by tightening the nut (A) and tighten the nut to specification. |
| 8. |
Connect the inhibitor switch connector (B).
|
| 9. |
Connect the negative (-) battery cable. |
