Inspection
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.
Connect the GDS.
3.
Check the output voltage of AQS between terminal 2 and 3.

1. DC 12V( Ignition)

4.
AQS diagnosis and fail safe
A.
With the ignition switch turned ON, it does not judge whether it has failed or not while the AQS sensor is preheating (35 ± 2 sec.). It is judged after 40 seconds the ignition switch has been turned ON.
B.
At this time, if the AQS output is out of normal range, the AQS is turned off.
C.
But, if the AQS is OPEN/SHORT, the AQS will turn off right after the ignition switch is turned ON regarding it as a malfunction.
Replacement
1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Remove the front bumper.
(Refer to Body - "Front Bumper Cover")
3.
Disconnect the smart cruise control unit connector (A).
4.
Loosen the bolts and then remove the smart cruise control unit bracket (B).

5.
Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the AQS (B).

6.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
